Kathy Chow Joins Cadet Sequel

TVB’s cadet collection, The Academy and On the First Beat, have gained satisfying ratings respectively. This year, a third sequel will be filmed to form a trilogy. According to reliable sources, rumor king Michael Tao Dai-Yu and rumor queen Sonija Kwok Sin-Nei will both be kicked out of the sequel. The long missed Kathy Chow Hoi-Mei will join the team and be partnered up with Michael Miu-Kiu Wai. Kathy will play the wife of Michael, a triad leader.

Following The Academy and On the First Beat, the third sequel is set to start filming this March. Seeing Kathy’s appearance last November at TVB’s Award Presentation, Kathy’s glamorousness and popularity are just as appealing as the current TVB leading stars. TVB is currently negotiating with Kathy. Kathy expresses her interest in the role and acting opposing Michael Miu.

MICHAEL ANTICIPATES COLLABORATION

After working with Anita Yuen Wing-Yee, Michael will have the chance to work with Kathy, in a recent telephone conversation, Michael says, “Really? I’m not too sure yet, I’ll be really happy with that’s true. I’ve always liked to working with a different people. Have not worked with Kathy before, I highly anticipate our collaboration. (You’re on a roll, one series after another?) I didn’t want it to be that way, but The Academy is my welcome back series, I have special feelings for the series. Also because in the series I’m not a police anymore, it’s going to be challenging. Kathy’s managing company expressed on behalf of Kathy, stating that TVB did in fact contact Kathy. Kathy is interested, but everything will depend on Kathy’s schedule.

RON AND SAMMUL RETURNS

Both Ron Ng Cheuk-Hei and Sammul Chan Kin-Fung will return for the sequel, Ron will be paired up with singer Elanne Kong Yeuk-Lam. In response to possible rumors, Ron says, “I have rumors for every series, this is something I can’t control. It is unavoidable, I cannot do anything about it.” When told that Kathy might join the cast, Ron says, “I can’t wait to work with her, I’ve always liked Kathy’s series, such as Looking Back In Anger.”

Comments. If this is true that Kathy is going to being in the highly anticipated Academy 3, it’s so cool. Haven’t seen her in ages! The last time I saw her, she was with ATV and that was back in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. I believe the two series who called Flaming Brothers and To Where He Belongs where she is entangled in a relationship with Michael Tao and Damien Lau, respectively. Can’t wait to see her performance!

Michael Miu’s New Optical Shop: Googa Vision

Michael Mui opened an optical shop Googa Vision at Kowloon Bay Mega Box yesterday as he invited Andy Lau, Felix Wong and Kent Tong for its opening ceremony as they carried out “wore glasses ceremony” and firing of confetti.

Tony Leung Chiu Wai whom was alleged to be not on good terms with the other four tigers was absent. Other celebrities that were present include Toby Leung and her parents, alleged couple Myolie Wu and Bosco Wong, Joyce Tang and Derek Kok.

Michael is the sole boss of the shop as he quipped that he initially invested only a few ten thousands but as he had invited Andy, now his investment had increased to millions, later he exclaimed that the 3 tigers only received friendship fees thus they could come anytime to pick their favorite glasses.

When asked why short of 1 tiger, Michael sighed: “Don’t ask me this question, I don’t know how to answer, I just knew that good brothers will come to support me.”

Andy whom had just completed his concert did not went hiding from the media of the allegations of his alleged girlfriend Carol Zhu Liqian appearing in his concert among the audience as some reporters asked him: “You still dare to come?” Andy said that he had never thought of hiding as he did nothing wrong, he had also never answered questions of such nature as he said: “Why would I not dare to come? Today I will only be talking about the optical store and nothing else.”

When asked if he had read the report? Andy quipped that he did not read the report nor the content, he just know about it from the cover of the magazine stall on the streets. With regards to Carol being said as the head mistress of the home, Andy quipped: “Anyway, all whom came to watch my concert are angels. (What about the head mistress of the home?) Googa vision.” Andy is indeed tactical with his words.

When asked about Michael paying high fees for his appearance, Andy did not discounted that it need money to invite him, however Micheal did not invite him, he just came to support his friend. Andy had designed sun glasses many years ago, when asked if he would collaborate with Michael? Andy express that he does not know anything at the moment.

Lee See Kei – Ho Ma
Michelle Yim – Hung
Susanna Kwan – Sa Sa
Moses Chan – Gam Wing Ka
Raymond Lam – Gam Wing Ho
Chris Lai – Gam Wing Yuen
Wan Ka Hang – Gam Wing Chung
Linda Chung – Yu So Sum
Bosco Wong – Ling Ji Shun

Characters Information

The family has a fortune of $1 billion with a mooncake pastry shop.

Ha Yu has seven children – Moses Chan, Raymond Lam, Tavia Yeung, Lai Lok Yi, Fala Chen, Wan Ka Hang, and Linda Chung. Linda is not Ha Yu’s birth daughter, but is Michelle Yim’s daughter. Tavia is an adopted daughter.

Lee Heung Kam joins to act as Ha Yu’s mother, who uses schemes to arrive at justice. She doesn’t like Lee See Kei, so she frequently scolds her. Everyone in the family listens to her. Her nature is almost like a little kid. She says her role is heavy; she appears in every episode.

Ha Yu and Lee See Kei are again a husband and wife, but from the start they are divorced. Each have custody of three children; Moses, Lai Lok Yi, and Wan Ka Hang are with Ha Yu while Raymond, Tavia, and Fala are with Lee See Kei. At the very end, the family will be reunited. Lee See Kei’s role this time is a carefree, good person. She frequently tells gags to make people laugh. However, when she lectures, she will still speak “golden words”. She is often teased as being “fat” by Susanna Kwan.

Lee See Kei and Susanna are sisters this time, but they will frequently cause trouble for their father. Susanna’s nature is radical and likes doing what she wants. It is another evil role. However, her evilness is also loveable. It’s because of her good heart that she does bad. Luckily, her father and elder sister are there to mend things for her.
Wayne Lai and Susanna will have a “brother sister” relationship. Wayne’s role is a pastry master.

Michelle is the new villain. Her character was a worker at the cake factory, but schemed to steal Lee See Kei’s husband. Furthermore, she sent Ha Yu’s children overseas to study, not letting them stay by their father’s side. She spoils them on purpose.

Moses’ character this time around is a player and spoiled. He will be involved with many women, but his main romantic storyline is a love triangle with Tavia and Kate Tsui.

Tavia’s role is similar to her role in the last series. She will be someone whose life is suppressed, but her nature is still happy. She has quite a lot of scenes where she will be taunted by Susanna. Raymond’s character cares very much about his family. He says his role is heavy, so he has a lot of stress. He’s going to go to a pastry shop to learn how to make cakes.

Linda’s character is a physician. Her role is similar to “‘Seung Joi Sum” in the last series, however, she will not cry as much. Her relationships with Raymond and Bosco is a painful love story. Linda says that her role is almost like “Seung Joi Sum” – they are both kind people – but the way she portrays this new role has to be different from last time.

Bosco will not appear until after the 10th episode. His character is a doctor in the gynecology department. This time, Bosco’s character is unrelated to Ha Yu’s family, so his scenes will be less. However, Bosco is not worried because last time Raymond’s character was also an “outsider”, but the response to his role was very good. Because he has to fight with Raymond for Linda, he is worried that he will be called a girlfriend snatcher.

Kate plays Susanna’s daughter; she herself is also a troublemaker. Because of her greed for money, she pursues Moses’ character. The story says that Kate and Susanna returned from Portugal, so they have to speak Portuguese and English.

In the very end, Tavia will end up with Moses.

Fala’s character is a mute, so she is learning sign language. Fala will be paired up with Yeung Tin Ging. Tavia and Fala have a lot of scenes together, so Tavia also has to learn sign language. Shirley Yeung and Jack Wu act as the young Lee See Kei and Ha Yu.

War of In-Laws II Ep. 17

Lisa finally realizes his faults and regrets…Bosco separated with Myolie and gets together with Athena…

Summary. Bosco is very sad about Myolie wanting a divorce with him. Myolie moves out of the house. Meanwhile, at Lamma Island, Lisa is alone. She accidentally spills water and decides to mop it, but when she is trying to get the mop, her arm gets stuck in the window. A man comes by and asks if she needs help, but she refuses to admit that she is stuck. She talks disrespectfully to the man and the guy responds that everyone in Lamma Island hates her, especially the elders at the hospital. The guy leaves and Lisa continues to be stuck there. She later dreams that Bosco, Myolie, Mark, and all her previous employees goes to her funeral, but goes there to party. In other words, they are happy that she has died. She screams and as she woke up, Benz has rescued her out of the window. Benz tells her that she doesn’t have to worry about people partying at her funeral, because she is so mean, no one will even set up a funeral for her. Lisa replies that she a strong person is always alone and she already knows it. She then decides to make spaghetti, but she needs ketchup. She goes to the supermarket, but the employees there told her that they are out of it. She yells at them while all the customers there look at her. She went all the way home to get a bottle of ketchup and realizes that Boscolie are home. She hears that they have separated and is shocked. The way Bosco broke up with Myolie reminds her of how she broke up with her boyfriend (Bosco’s father). Myolie storms out of the room and notices Lisa, but walks away. Lisa, astonished, yells at Bosco for making Myolie leave. Lisa encourages him to leave Vivien. When Lisa went back to Lamma Island, she realizes that she forgot to bring home the ketchup and goes over to Benz’s apartment. He is eating at home as well while Lisa cries and tells him about all the sad events that happened to her: Joyce left, then her servant, and Myolie. At this point, Lisa regrets for what she did while Benz tries to comfort her. Lisa tells her about Vivien and how she took Bosco away. Lisa asks her to do something. After ignoring his warning, Benz goes up to Vivien and breaks a mop. Although he broke it with his leg, the strips of wood scarred Vivien’s face and she screams. At the hospital, Bosco arrives and Benz hopes that Vivien will not accuse him. Vivien does not know and tells Bosco that the doctor told her that the scar might stay with her forever. Bosco, feeling out of pity, agrees to sign separate with Myolie and signs the contract. Of course, Vivien, sweet talks him into this. Myolie is undergoing lots at Elva as she is stuck between satisfying her boss and taking her employee’s suggestions into consideration. Mark, tired of his workers not cooperating finally issues warning letters to anyone who disobeys Myolie’s orders. By now, everyone at work is angry at Myolie for betraying them as they thought it was Myolie who asked Mark to issue warning letters. Myolie is stuck in the middle and does not know what to do. She seeks Bosco’s help, but Bosco tells her that he will be together with Vivien. Angry and disappointed, Myolie returns to work and hears everyone talking about her (they intended to let Myolie hear their feelings) and she turns around and yell at them. Like Ophelia.

Comments. This episode was rather hilarious and serious at the same time. I actually loved it. First, I was so happy when Benz scarred Vivien’s face. When she screamed, I laughed. She totally deserves it for being the third party and not feel guilty for breaking up a married couple. Second, the whole Lisa-being-stuck-in-the-window event was hilarious as well. I especially thought it was funny when Benz ensured not to worry about people partying at her funeral because there wouldn’t be one for her since she has such a terrible personality. Third, when Lisa regrets for treating certain people the way they did and she cried about it. She finally understood the importance of friends. Benz and Lisa have great chemistry and I like how Benz easily forgave Lisa and even treated her like a friend when she needed the help. Fourth, Myolie is becoming Ophelia Number Two. It was funny when the fire came out of her mouth. I cannot imagine what Joyce has in mind, that is, if she still has a conspiracy.
